Christine Rathmann (*1981) was born in Kiel and studied industrial design at Muthesius University in her home city. Since 2009, she has worked as a designer for various companies in the furniture industry and also works freelance in the field of product, furniture and graphic design. The designer lives and works in Bünde in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Christine Rathmann works intuitively, creates atmospheres, has a passion for colour. Tones of yellow, green, blue, red and pink swirl across the faceted surfaces of the porcelain vases like a kaleidoscope. The Hot Spots collection offers an eye-catching and bright colour gradient that smoothly tapers off into a single colour. This creates a changeable piece, which is both a decorative object and functional vase for creating effective flower displays, and which also works especially well as an ensemble. „I like it when little details in objects surprise people, so the observer quickly develops an affinity for them,“ explains the designer. And this is what gives Hot Spots its appearance as an enticing combination of shapes and colours – always changing depending on the light level and viewing angle.
